Celebrate Valentine's Day
Eric Roberts a 35 year-old male has celebrated Valentine’s Day since being a child. He recalls creating valentine cards in kindergarten for his mom and friends. His whole life he has celebrated this day even when being single.

It is a day for romance for everyone! Single, married, engaged! Everyone has experience loved at one point or another in their life and should enjoy this day too.

Children often make cards in their classrooms for their friends and parents. They also make other small gifts in elementary school such as painted hearts, or hand crafted items for their parents.

Valentine’s Day is an annual day to celebrate love in a romantic way. February 14th is the day of love for couples, family and friends to enjoy.

Saint Valentine was actual priest who lived in Rome during the 3rd century. This priest married numerous people in secret outside of the Catholic Church. Valentine’s Day wasn’t a celebrate holiday until a few centuries ago.

Most cultures have their own traditions on how they view this day and how it is celebrated. In the United States of America most people exchange cards, gifts, and give flowers.

Many American’s share this day by spending time with the people they love the most. Eric expressed his day as, “I plan on taking my wife out to a nice restaurant and giving her a nice bracelet.”

Roses are a very popular gift in the United States of America. Flower sales go up tremendously during the month of February. Florist enjoy this holiday too!

Gifts are one of the main focuses of this holiday which can lead some people to be turned off by this day. Yet many people remain optimistic and enjoy the day without having to give or receive any gifts whatsoever. The whole point of the day is to be with the people you love the most.

Eric said that he doesn’t make any special type of food on this special day but loves to eat out at nice restaurants with his wife. Most restaurants on this day are usually booked many weeks in advance to ensure a great holiday with their significant other.

Overall this holiday is often focused for the female receiving roses and gifts from their boyfriend, husband, or the person they are dating. During Eric’s interview he said “I think it is more likely for women to get gifts from men than men to receive gifts.”

Most men don’t expect gifts from their counter parts but it is always enjoyed when they do get something special. Men don’t really care much to receive roses or candy, but when they do it is always enjoyed.

Sometimes Valentine’s Day is a holiday avoiding by people because they discovered they are single because it is constantly put in their face that this day is to be spent with your partner. It is hard for single people because the focus is on couples. Eric said “I think that Valentine’s Day can make people feel lonely who are single”.

Many people do get engaged and married on this famous day, but Eric expressed that he wasn’t aware of anyone that he knew that this happened to. People get engaged and married on this day because this is the known day for love!

Living in the day and age when everyone is on their cell phones, people can share their feelings by texting each other a nice text reflecting expression of this day. A simple text on this day can brighten up anyone’s day.

Valentine’s Day is for people who are more emotional. It is a day to smile to be happy and enjoy the company of people you love dearly. With or without gifts it is a day to just enjoy even if one is alone.

Eric had a tragic event one year where he admitted to be cheated on this day and discovered it. Despite this negative event, he said he didn’t let it adversely affect him in the long run.

Eric expressed “Yes, I celebrate it annually and normally enjoy it.” We hope that everyone goes out and enjoys Valentine’s Day regardless of whether you are single or not! It is a day for love and enjoyment.

Go out this Valentine’s Day and spend it with someone you love or spend it alone. Just appreciate life and love!
